Have you ever wanted to try your hand at creating with glass, but didn't know where to start? Join Hartlepool artist, Carley, for the perfect taster workshop to introduce you to a world of creating with glass, light and colour.

In this workshop you'll learn techniques for fusing small pieces of coloured glass. You'll use what you learn to explore memory, place or feeling. The colours of the sea or a stunning sunset could inspire your work. Or even a childhood memory, light coming through a window, or a favourite landscape.

You'll have time to sketch out your ideas, playing with different colours and arrangements. You'll learn how to handle glass safely, and try out different materials and techniques. You'll have chance to work with glass stringers, frit and layering pieces of glass.

Because your finished piece will be small, you'll learn how even a tiny change in colour, transparency or position can alter the whole composition. There's no need to have any experience working with glass. You’ll be shown what to do with step-by-step instructions, and help and guidance will be available throughout the process.

You will be able to take your finished work home with you. You can also choose to have your finished pieces displayed in a group artwork as part of a larger installation.Perfect for beginners and anyone who fancies trying something new with glass, colour and light! Come and spend a relaxing afternoon getting creative!

If you have any questions regarding access requirements for this session please contact us via info@rockpools.org or call 01429 858351
